Local incentives

Trying to raise the companies service as much as possible in the Barczewo City and Commune Office, a person serving the support and care was appointed. Project supervisor’s tasks include:·

  • assisting investors in the necessary administrative and legal procedures at the commune level;
  • offering quick access to comprehensive information on the investment’s economic and legal environment;
  • providing comprehensive assistance in finding suitable locations, consistent with the investor’s expectations, as well as partners and sub-suppliers;
  • offering post-investment care for companies (it also supports companies that already operate in the commune, by maintaining constant contact with them and help in solving current problems related to activities in the commune).

  • Location in the area managed by the Warmia and Mazury Special Economic Zone, for which the highest public aid granted to entrepreneurs is in force in the country.

  • Exemption from real estate tax – for a period of 2 years for newly built buildings and structures that are related to running a business (excluding trading activities).

The staff of COI operates according to the standards set by the Polish Investment &Trade Agency, has been trained at the Agency and is provided with constant substantive support hers employees. Each of the units covers the area of ​​the voivodship, in which it has its registered office and constitutes a source of current data on the voivodship’s economy. The centers also have contact bases with local self-governments and business-related institutions working for the development of the voivodship.

The main aim of the COI activity is to provide comprehensive investor service at the level of the voivodship. The centers cooperate with the Polish Investment & Trade Agency while servicing investment projects and providing services for investors who report directly to them.

Warmia and Mazury Regional Development Agency in Olsztyn commenced operations in 1993. The Agency’s mission is to contribute to the economic development of Warmia and Mazury, especially by supporting small and medium-sized enterprises.   • Government grants

Government grants are awarded on the basis of the Investment Support Program of Significant Importance for the polish economy for the years 2011-2023, adopted by the Council of Ministers on July 5, 2011.

Support is granted in the form of subsidies based on a bilateral agreement concluded between the Minister of Economy and the investor. The contract regulates in detail the terms of paying the subsidy, while maintaining the principle that the subsidy is paid in proportion to the level of performance of the obligations.

Only entrepreneurs planning investments in the following priority sectors can apply for support:
the automotive sector,
– the electronics sector and the production of household appliances,
– the aviation sector,
– the biotechnology sector,
– agri-food sector,
– modern services sector,
– research and development (R & D).

In addition, entrepreneurs planning production investments in other sectors, with minimum eligible costs of PLN 750 million and creating at least 200 new jobs or with minimum eligible costs of PLN 500 million and creating at least 500 new jobs (significant investments) can apply for support.
